Despite national news reports of heavy rain, massive flooding and suggesting all Minnesota residents begin building arks, nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, a lot of rain fell in the Twin Cities area last week and the Mississippi River has risen, but our Rally site at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds has not been adversely affected. The image accompanying this story was taken by our Rally Chair Karol Patzer last Thursday, and shows our beautiful rally site at the Fairgrounds with it’s lush green grass, beautiful trees and virtually no mud in sight.
Karol also rode around the area on Sunday crossing the Mississippi, Minnesota and St. Croix rivers and reports that the rivers have crested with dry weather being forecast. While there are some areas near the Mississippi River that have been flooded, the rally site is at an elevation significantly above that of the river.
The extended forecast calls for good times and great memories and that we’ll have no problem “Rollin’ by the River” to the BMW MOA International Rally in St. Paul in 23 days.
