I am selling my much loved 2000 BMW R1100RT because my back no longer tolerates long-distance riding.
Owned, ridden and maintained by a mature, experienced (55 years of riding) German rider. I am the original/only owner. Asking $4,500 but will entertain reasonable offers.
The bike has always been garaged, never in an accident and been meticulously maintained by myself with all work and service per factory specs documented in a bound notebook. In addition, I have never put up my bike without running the engine to full operating temperature. Always used BMW or Golden Spectro semi-synthetic or synthetic lubricants in engine, transmission and final drive. Brake fluid has been flushed/replaced every one to two years. Recent battery, always on charger in garage. BMW heated grips. All throttle, clutch and fast-idle cables replaced recently. Nearly all miles on long distance rides crossing the US and Canada as well as Mexico in many directions.
The color is beautiful Opal Blue.`
Imrovements/upgrades include: Dual Fiamm Horns for that big car sound, Motolights on front fork, Öhlins (front and back) fully tuneable, adjustable and rebuildable suspension, allowing the rider to set up the bike to personal riding preference and body weight. All brake lines Teflon-lined stainless steel braided. Left camchain tensioner from modern BMW boxer engines - no more clatter on cold start-up. BMW comfort seat. Hyperlites by brake lights, accessory shelf over instruments and Throttle Meister bar ends. Brand-new Michelin Pilot Road tires have 100 miles on them. I am including a set of Bar Backs and a pair of city lids to replace the standard hard case lids for that sporty, slimmer profile if desired.
