C3 - The Third Sea of Shining Seas and CLCs
Various BMW Clubs
When they put a rock on a wedding ring, they choose a diamond because it's timeless. When they put a ship in a bottle, they choose a schooner because it's beautiful. When they put a BMW motorcycle in an art museum, they choose an R1200C cruiser. Annually, we few privileged to own this rolling sculpture gather to celebrate its timeless beauty at an event called A Sea of Shining Cs and CLCs. The third such Sea, called C3, will gather at Breaks Interstate Park in the heart of Appalachia from Friday through Sunday, August 15-18, 2008. When you come, be prepared for intensely wiggly roads and good hearted folk who like to pluck and clog. After the event, I would like you to join us for the ride of a lifetime. Sunday afternoon, after C3 adjourns, a group of us will ride from Breaks VA to Maggie Valley NC, then ride round the Smokies, Little River Road, the Foothill Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway, the Dragon, and then the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, ending in Front Royal VA the following Saturday. Bring your camera. Details of this week long ride are also available at www.r1200clc.com under the link captioned "Appalachian Anabasis". Full C3 details and sign up form are available at www.r1200clc.com . Details of the ride afterwards are also available at www.r1200clc.com under the link captioned "Appalachian Anabasis". Or call Robert Davis at 302 345 0807. If you do not own a cruiser, you may still attend. We will understand. Poor soul.
