2007 Rally Charity Challenge June 6, 2007

The Annual Charity Challenge has been labeled "The Port Washington BMW Club Challenge." Some 14 years ago, the Port Club initiated the challenge to raise funds for a local national rally charity. Chartered BMW MOA clubs were challenged to match the Port's initial donation of $100.00 for the local charity. Some clubs have met or exceeded that challenge, and the Chain Gang traditionally "ups the anty." Their challenge this year is $650.00.

In 2007 we are helping two charities, Free S.P.I.R.I.T. Riders (special people in riding therapy), and The MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer), a charitable organization that supports research into the effective treatment and cure of childhood cancer. These two organizations are doing a great job helping kids! Let's see what we can do, and keep exceeding our expectations.

We are again asking chartered clubs to meet or exceed the charity challenge. Donations should be made payable to BMW MOA, and a check will be presented to the recipient at the awards ceremony.

During the rally be on the lookout for the roving 50/50 ticket sales people. Steve Johnson and Charlie Payson are organizing members of the Chain Gang, and many other volunteers to be on site selling tickets. Winners will be drawn throughout the rally and will be posted at the charity table. 50% of the proceeds will be contributed to the 2 charities, and 50% of each drawing will be given to the lucky ticket holders. Let's keep those 50/50 volunteers busy and raise money for a great cause.

If you'd like to donate money in advance, write a check payable to the "BMW MOA", indicating "National Charity" in the memo section, and send to:

Thanks for your help, and have a great time!
