Markel American Insurance Company is building a very special BMW for donation to the BMW MOA Foundation. One lucky attendee at the 36th BMW MOA International Rally in Gillette, WY will win the 1974 R75/6, which has been converted to an R90. The restoration includes many of the "trick" items popular in the 1970s to improve handling and overall performance. This one of a kind BMW will have a special "Gillette rally" paint scheme with numerous custom parts. You can follow along with the whole process of the build at www.MarkelBuildsBeemerFun.com. They will be posting videos, photos and write articles about the project so you can see exactly how it goes from a bucket of parts to a bike that any BMW rider would be proud to own!
"We're thrilled to be able to build this bike for such a wonderful community of riders like the BMW MOA," said Timberlee Tamraz Grove, President and COO of Markel American. "It will be exciting to see how the whole process comes together right through to the winner in Gillette!"
Markel has been providing support to the BMW MOA and the Foundation for several years. In addition to this generous motorcycle contribution the insurer has provided funding for coffee cups for multiple Rallies and has been instrumental in supporting motorcycle educational programs offered by the BMW MOA Foundation.
