50 RALLIES AWARD PRESENTATION PROPOSAL
BACK GROUND
In 2018, the Board of Directors approved the creation of the Rally Rider 25 and the Rally Rider 50 awards. Rally Rider 25 pins are mailed to those who have attended 25 BMW MOA Rallies and apply for the award. The Rally Rider 50 award has been renamed the BMW MOA 50 Phoenix Award. A Phoenix Award pin and Phoenix Award decal are mailed in a 50 Rally Package to those 50 Rally attenders who apply.
PROPOSAL
Part 1
Present the Phoenix Award and Decal on stage during the Closing Ceremony at the Rally where the recipient qualifies for attending 50.
Anyone qualifying going forward will not be a Pioneer so they will be members who have never been awarded on stage for their tremendous dedication.
This needs to be a Board decision so that it will be an ongoing policy in future years.
Part 2
Recognize the BMW MOA Trail Blazers and welcome them into the Trail Blazers.
The Trail Blazers will be the group of members who have attended 50 rallies. Like the Pioneers, it will be an independent group that run themselves. But like the Pioneers, it should have a connection to and needs to be recognized by the MOA. The high rally attenders that were at the 2022 Pioneer Dinner came up with the name.
NOTE
Mike Brenneman will qualify for 50 at next year’s rally in Lebanon. Mike missed the first two, so he is
not a Pioneer.
