Anonymous Book

Click the cover to access the PDF version of the Anonymous Book (PDF reader required).

The Anonymous Book is all about members helping members. For years, MOA members have used the Anonymous Book as a BMW Rider’s roadside assistance plan – and it still works today.

The Anonymous Book is available to every member in good standing. If you have recently joined the organization or renewed, your should receive a paper copy in about six weeks. After the first one, you’ll need to opt in to continue receiving a paper copy, which you can do in your profile settings right here on the MOA website.

The MOA ANONYMOUS APP holds the same information as the paper edition, but makes it conveniently available on any iOS or Android mobile device. The data in the Anonymous App is updated four times a year.

Using the Anonymous App allows you to access lists of BMW Motorrad Dealers and Chartered Clubs across the United States. Once you’re logged in, you can access the traditional AB listings, provided by MOA members who have opted in to the Anonymous universe. Filter by state and city to find MOA members near you willing to help or just get together for a cup of coffee.

Find the new Anonymous App in the Apple or Google Play stores by searching “BMW MOA Anonymous” and take the Anonymous Book with you on your smartphone.

In a pinch, you can also access a PDF version of the Anonymous Book. (Requires PDF reader.)

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve put some of the most frequently asked questions below. If this doesn’t solve the problem, contact the membership team or give us a call at (864) 438-0962. We’ll be glad to help.

Are there any rules to the Anonymous Book?
General courtesy is the rule of thumb with respect to the Anonymous Book

TO THE CALLER: While the services offered are typically for emergency situations, there may be the times when you simply need advice or a place to change your oil. Please state to the host whether an emergency exists or not. And, while socializing with other BMW MOA members can be a legitimate reason for calling an umber in the book, it is the caller's responsibility to be sensitive to the individual limits presented by the host.

TO THE HOST: We suggest you ask the caller for their BMW MOA number and determine the need. Extending your services and/or hospitality is at your discretion. It is not possible for BMW MOA to control the use of the system or to be responsible for that use. We can only urge that members do not abuse the system in any way.
How do I get my copy of the Anonymous Book?
Copies for new members are mailed in batches every six to eight weeks. You will automatically receive a copy within the first two months of membership. After your first year of membership, if you want to continue receiving a paper copy, you'll need to opt in for that option using your MOA member profile.
What is inside the Anonymous Book?
Inside is a listing of members by city and state, who are willing to offer assistance to another member in a time of need. Each listing contains the members phone number and a list of services the MOA member is willing to provide.

Why is it necessary to login to view the PDF/digital version?
Like the paper version, the digital version is a benefit of membership and protected by copyright laws. Requiring you to log in helps keep the book's use to MOA members only and protects your information.
Are all the versions the same?
The print and PDF versions are the same, and are produced once each year - typically in February. The app is updated quarterly and is the best bet for accessing the most up-to-date information.
Is the print edition being phased out?
No, but we encourage members to use the app version. You must specifically request a hard copy by selecting that choice in your online profile.
Can I have my information only in the digital or print version?
Unfortunately, the information in the digital version must be the same as print edition. If you have opted in to the Anonymous Book, your information will be included in every version - print, PDF and app.
How do I remove my information?
You can update your profile information online, contact the membership team with any changes or or call the MOA membership office at (864) 438-0962 and we will be glad to update your information. It will be removed with the next printing of the Anonymous Book, and with the next data update for the Anonymous App.
