Three days ago, the forecast called for temps in the high 40s and low 50s this weekend, but they keep shifting those days later into the week. It’s not only irritating, but those days are starting to butt up against my wife’s impending foot surgery on Thursday. The surgery will functionally end my ability to ride at will for months, as it’s her right foot and it’ll be in this giant hard boot thing—she won’t be able to drive. I’m trying to be positive about it, but it’s hard.

When the trip to Austin comes at the end of March, that’s 1,500 miles each way and I’ll have done little riding in Q1 ahead of it.
