Save the dates! November 21 – 24, 2025!
We’re putting together the first SoCal Road trip! It’s an all-inclusive motorcycle journey through Southern California hosted by the MOA and based in La Quinta, California, in the heart of the Coachella Valley east of Los Angeles. The MOA Road Trip is all-inclusive, meaning your lodging, all your meals, a custom tour shirt, and even your fuel are covered during the tour!
This tour was designed for those riders who love the idea of riding mountain roads but don’t want to contend with the fast-paced group. There is a maximum of ten bikes per tour, and pillion riders are encouraged. The SoCal Road Trip is designed as an easy-paced ride meant to appeal to the touring rider.
Individual routes will include historical and other points of interest along the way. Depending on location, daily rides will include 130 to 200 miles per day with regular rest and fuel stops along the way. And all-inclusive means you just show up, put your wallet away, and we’ll take it from there! The Road Trip includes an arrival welcome reception followed by two days of great riding. Daily rides are designed to arrive back at the hotel by 5 pm.
Day One (Friday) – Arrival, Welcome Reception & Event Briefing
Make plans to arrive at the hotel in the afternoon and look for our Registration Area in the lobby beginning at 3 pm. You will have time to get settled and join us for a guest reception. We’ll go over all the details, timing, and answer any questions you may have.
Day Two (Saturday) – Depart at 8:30 am / return approximately 4:30 pm; 125 Miles / Approximately 4-5 Hours Ride Time
Leaving the hotel, we head out for great roads and return to our hotel on a winding and not-so-straight path, arriving around 4 PM. Day one riding exposes visitors to the great motorcycling available in Southern California, some of which will have you believing you aren’t in California anymore.
Mountain roads wil lead us to sightseeing such as the filming location for “It’s A Wild, Wild World”, Idyllwild mountain village, pie in Julian and the Palomar Mountain Observatory.
Day Three (Sunday) – Depart At 8:00 AM / Return Approximately 4:30 PM; 126 Miles / Approximately 6 Hours OF RIDING TIME
Today is an action-packed and fun-filled day guaranteed to fill your daily curve bucket! Our first stop along the way will be breakfast. Then over to the metal sculptures of Borrego Springs, the kitschy Slab City, East Jesus and Salvation Mountain, and Bombay Beach. There will be an option to tour nearby Joshua Tree National Park. We’ll make a rest stop along the way and end the day riding great California back roads back to our hotel.
Day Four (Monday) – Departure to the Destinations of your choice
TOUR COST
Two guided rides, one per day, will make sure you get maximum riding enjoyment, as well as experience true California Gold. The total cost of the tour is $1,495 per rider, which includes your room at the Embassy Suites La Quinta Hotel & Spa, a welcome reception on the first night, breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the two days of the tour, and all your gas during the tour. Tour participants will use their own motorcycles and are responsible for getting to La Quinta and the return trip after the tour. We are the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America. A group of 25,000 BMW motorcycle enthusiasts who started with the same spark for motorcycling that you did. Our history dates back over 40 years to five friends who formed a motorcycle club to stay in touch with each other. Today, we are a network of riders across all 50 United States and ten Canadian provinces. We have members on all seven continents and it isn’t possible to ride without finding a friendly face.
