Headlight
Headlight is the traditional editorial column printed monthly in the BMW Owners News. For over 50 years, the one-page opening has provided our editors with a platform to entertain, educate, and inform Owners News readers. The Headlight section of the website brings the “best of” opinion pieces from MOA members everywhere.
Every rider has a mental bucket list of places they hope to visit someday. Before I hang up my helmet for the last time, I dream of riding the 48 snake-like curves of Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps or standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other fanatics along a stone wall, watching bikes fly by at the Isle of Man TT.
In my toolbox are a handful of old tools pulled from my dad's old toolbox, which I'll pull out once in a while to twist a nut to remember the old man. My garage is so overstuffed I've been too embarrassed to let anyone inside.
“You’re going to ride from California to St. Louis on a naked bike? You’re nuts!” I recall one of the BMW staffers saying.
