In trying to make the R 90/6 into a simple daily rider, I went to the grocery store today. That’s it. I didn’t even take the long way or involve a fun detour despite the temps being in the low 50s and decidedly unbreezy. I got eggs, supermarket sushi (it’s actually quite good), cheese sticks, salad stuff and some frozen meat substitutes for lunches and dinners the rest of the week.

I experienced my first occurrence of VBDS—Vintage Bike Delay Syndrome—in the Kroger parking lot. A crusty dude decked out in Harley apparel said as I walked by him, “How old is she?” His eyes lit up when I told him 1976. We chatted about bikes until his wife emerged from the store with a cartload of groceries.
The check-out clerk clocked my jacket—I left my other gear on the bike—and seemed puzzled that anybody on a motorcycle would be on a grocery run. It’s perfectly routine to me no matter the bike. I got an extra paper bag to cushion the eggs and everything got home safely. Hoping/planning to ride the next two days as well!
