RBMWR breakfast at Kitchen 33. Food seems to be getting worse. I much prefer the Rise & Shine Diner.
Bike runs smoother since the valve adjustment, but once fully warmed up, it wants to idle at 1800 or 2000 rpm – period. When it would occasionally do that before, I could put the bike in gear and “bump” the clutch to get the idle to calm down, but that doesn’t work now. I checked the throttle cables, but they both look properly seated to me. I’m clueless as to what the problem is. Usually a high idle means too much air, but everything looks solidly connected and there are no cracks in the tubes between the air box and the carbs. The Bing manual wasn’t much help. It has nuggets of philosophical wisdom, but the actual instructions are obtuse and difficult to parse, let alone follow.
I started building an R 90/6-specific tool kit; not because I don’t like the stock tool kit but because mine is definitely incomplete. Plus the tools suck. I want to know the tools I’m carrying on the bike are useful, easy to use and high quality.
Have been grumpy since screwing up the valve adjustment on Tuesday. Really grumpy. Reminds me of that meme of the young couple lying in bed. Her thought bubble is paragraphs long, wondering if he’s thinking about this that and the other thing – a lengthy list of relationship possibilities, all of them bad. His thought bubble is, “My car sounded funny today” or something like that.
