BMW MOA App – Child Safety Policy
Overview
At the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (BMW MOA), we are committed to providing a safe and respectful digital environment for all our members, including younger users. While our app is primarily designed for adult motorcycle enthusiasts, we recognize the importance of child safety and strive to ensure that our app complies fully with Google Play’s Families Policy Requirements and Designed for Families program, where applicable.

  1. Target Audience
The BMW MOA App is not specifically targeted at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in their region). Our primary audience includes adult motorcycle enthusiasts, club members, and event participants.

However, we acknowledge that children may access the app when using shared devices, and we have taken steps to make the app safe and appropriate for all audiences.

  1. Age-Appropriate Content
The app does not contain any content that is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate for children.

User-generated content, including comments and forums, is moderated to ensure respectful and appropriate communication.

The app does not include or promote gambling, simulated gambling, or other age-restricted services.

  1. Ads and Monetization
The BMW MOA app is non-commercial and does not display third-party advertisements.

If monetization or fundraising features are added in the future (e.g., donations or merchandise), they will not include ads targeted at children or use deceptive practices.

We comply with Google Play’s Monetization and Ads Policy, ensuring any future advertising is age-appropriate and clearly disclosed.

  1. Data Collection and Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

All data collection is minimal and solely for the purpose of enhancing the member experience (e.g., login credentials, club membership verification).

The app complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-K), and Google Play’s User Data Policy.

A clear and accessible Privacy Policy is provided within the app and on our website.

  1. Parental Controls and Supervision
We recommend that parents and guardians supervise children’s use of the app, especially when accessing community forums or shared club content.

We encourage families to use device-level parental controls to restrict access to apps not intended for children.

  1. App Store Designation
The app is not designated as a “Designed for Families” app on Google Play, but it adheres to Google Play’s Families Policy Requirements.

The app’s content rating is set appropriately in the Play Console, and we regularly review this to ensure accuracy.

  1. Reporting and Enforcement
We maintain a channel for users to report inappropriate content or behavior within the app.

Any violations of this policy or our community guidelines will result in content removal and, if necessary, account suspension or banning.

To report a concern, please contact us at: support@bmwmoa.org

  1. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to update this Child Safety Policy as needed to comply with evolving laws and platform policies. All updates will be communicated through app updates and our official website.
