I may be crazy, but I just bought an R 60/2 anyway

It took some time to put together and finalize, but today I bought a 1966 R 60/2. It’s in good condition, a rider’s bike rather than a show piece. Owned since 1969 or ’70 (NOS) by an old guy called Chester. I dealt with his son, who lives out in the country about 90 miles west of me. Seems ol’ Chester hit a deer about 15 years ago, so the bike was repainted basic black without pinstripes. Some minor changes like the exhaust, but it’s complete with matching numbers. The son put a new battery in it and some new ignition components. I planned to negotiate with him until I saw it. Needs tubes and tires and a swingarm boot, plus a good cleaning and that’s about it. (I mean, I’ll do a full service too, but that goes without saying.) I already bought a Clymer manual for it. It only has 34,296 miles on it. Not sure why I wanted this bike, but here we are. At least I didn’t get ripped off trying to buy that R 51/3 a few weeks ago. Scammers suck!
