The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America is changing that equation with the launch of the BMW MOA Tool Rental Program, the first program of its kind built specifically for motorcycle riders. Designed to put professional-grade maintenance within reach of every member, this initiative grants home wrenches access to specialty shop tools without the crippling upfront investment. To launch the program, we are starting with the Cam Check & Adjustment Kit, tailored specifically for the Boxer engine families, including the R 1300, R 1250, R 1200 series.
Over time, thousands of miles take their toll on valvetrain geometry; heat cycles and mechanical friction alter the microscopic tolerances between the camshaft lobes, rocker arms, and valves. Checking your cam timing and adjusting your valves restores the precise breathing of your motor:
- Optimal Power & Throttle Response: Exact valve lift and duration ensure proper air-fuel mixture delivery and exhaust scavenging.
- Engine Smoothness: Synchronized valve clearances eliminate harsh idle vibrations and uneven cylinder power delivery.

How the Tool Rental Program Works

- Upfront Authorization: When you place your order through the webstore, your credit card will be charged for the full purchase price of the toolkit plus the cost of round-trip shipping (to your door and back to us).
- 30-Day Rental Window: You have up to 30 days from the order date to perform your service and drop the kit back in the mail using the provided pre-paid return shipping label.
- Prompt Refund: Once the tool kit arrives back at our warehouse and is verified to be complete and undamaged, the full purchase value of the kit will be promptly refunded to your card.
- Your Only Cost: In the end, you are only responsible for the cost of round-trip shipping to and from your location.
